“We look at the body in health as meaning perfection and harmony, not in one part, but in the whole. Health holds dominion over the body by laws as immutable as the laws of gravity.”
Dr Andrew Taylor Still, Founder of Osteopathy
The Osteopathic Alliance was formed to uphold and preserve the conceptual foundations underpinning osteopathy, and to promote depth of osteopathic reasoning and diversity of osteopathic practice.
As a collective of osteopathic professional post-registration colleges and groups, we are committed to education exemplifying and promoting the breadth of osteopathic practice.
The OA engages with the profession, General Osteopathic Council (GOsC), Institute of Osteopathy (iO), Council of Osteopathic Education Institutes, (COEI), National Council for Osteopathic research (NCOR) and other stakeholders, to ensure these values are encompassed within strategic progress.
In a fast moving regulatory and political landscape, the profession must be proactive in meeting contemporary demands but reflective if it is to safeguard the identity and scope of osteopathic practice.
